Which way should I install my Fantech filter?

6th Feb 2025

When installing or replacing a Fantech air exchanger filter, it is important to place it on the correct side for optimal efficiency. A common question is: which side should the filter face?

Simple rule: The aluminum side (mesh) should be facing away from the core of the unit.fantech-core.jpg

Why?

  • This mesh acts as a first barrier to capture large debris.
  • It extends the filter’s lifespan by preventing premature clogging.
  • It ensures better performance of your air exchanger.
