Choosing the Right Furnace Filter Quality: Made Simple
Picking the right filter can be overwhelming with so many options. Let’s break it down. Filters have a MERV rating which tells you how well they work. Higher MERV numbers mean the filter can catch more stuff like dust, pollen, pet hair, mold spores, smoke and allergens. If you want better indoor air quality, choose a filter with a higher MERV rating.
But if saving money is your top priority, don’t just go for the cheapest filter. Sometimes spending a bit more can actually save you money in the long run because some filters last longer. For example, the Camfil Dual 9 filter can last 9 to 12 months, which is 3 to 4 times longer than other filters. That means fewer replacements and more savings over time.
Choosing the right filter doesn’t have to be hard. Just think about whether you want to focus on air quality or cost savings, and choose accordingly. Check out our selection to find the one that’s right for you.
